well it seems to be better for me... I don't get logged out as much as i did before... is there a pattern to how we lose these cookies? I mean at least for me it all seems random... or so it seems

Well, I dropped cookies four times in a row today.
The last time it I.D. me as rstarr34.
I've never used that in this forum.
I have that I.D. but where did it come from?
I was logged on as rstarr. I don't use rstarr34 for any forum
that I visit.
Whats' up with this.
Maybe the first big break?
I dunno no.

I think I know why it says rstarr34. If you have auto-forms enabled, you may have accidentally hit rstarr34 rather than rstarr....and since you didn't put a password on, it put you on as a Guest.

I got confused when I read this, and so I think it deserves a little explanation.
Auto-forms picks up the name of the field in the HTML code, and if it finds any future fields with that name (On different websites even) it'll offer to use that data to populate the fields.
Since rstarr uses rstarr34 elsewhere, that was a previous entry in the username field. Good answer, Dave. I wouldn't have thought of that one right away.

Well, I've made somewhere around 20 straight posts, and haven't had a problem with it logging me out, so it seems to be close to solved, if not completely

Can't speak for the way it was before, but I still have the problem occasionally. Would be wonderful to have it take care of.

Unless I missed an update where you explained something that you did, I haven't had a dropped cookie in a long time now. I don't know how everybody else is doing, but this makes the experience much much better.
