Based on the votes and your opinions, I've decided to merge the forums together like I mention below me. Thank you for helping us out with this decision, and we hope to see you actively participating on the boards

I was thinking about merging some forums together until we start getting some more action around here. Here's what the new breakdown would be:

What do you guys think? Aside from that I would like to find a couple of moderators to take over a few forums and keep things organized, help conversate, and administer whatever needs to be administered.

If you are interested in becoming a moderator, please let me know by PM. You should be an "expert" in the forum you are moderating (like hardware for example).

You might want to split up the hardware into seperate catagories, like:

Video
Audio
motherboards
networking....

Look at Ars Technica's...

Well that's how we have it now. The reason for this is because we don't exactly have the most LIVELY board on the net. So more forums = less posts in each one.

So what I was thinking was this....Say in the hardware forum...we keep it JUST hardware right now...so everything hardware goes in it. BUT if things start to liven up around here and it gets more and more posts and more and more active members, I'll start to split forums up into subforums like you mentioned and move posts into the appropriate forum.

Your idea is what we have right now

I would go along w/consolidating the boards a bit until traffic picks up. I found on my boards, the traffic was related to the subject and the people visiting the boards. One active person posting daily can make a world of difference.

Posting a topic also helps like a poll; such as What video card do you use and why? Then you need to tie it somehow to the home page such as Latest Forum Topic this Week with a link to bring new people into the forum.

Dave, the site looks good. I miss old days of Beta Bites.

You know damn well I was strongly in favor of less separate forums to keep activity up

I agree with the consensus and consolidate until the fourms get too busy and then spilt into a seperate section on the area that is gettign most dialogue

Do it! Just make sure the existing posts don't get wiped out
