I turned off the boards for about 30 minutes earlier today. For those of you that were wondering why this happened, the software that these are being powered by is called VBulletin.

They recenly came out with a VBulletin 2.0.0 Beta 1 which is what we used when we re-launched. The version I updated to was 2.0.0 Beta 2. Here's a list of fixes and whatnot:

    The changelog:
    vb 2.0 beta 2 "enhancements"
    - Minimum and Maximum lengths of words can be specified for the search index to reduce your database size
    - Row and Col settings for the display of avatars to your users, it is not one line now.
    - Number of referrals a user has is displayed in their profile
    - Added CP setting for displaying a tag before POlls on forumdisplay
    - Moved the Sticky/MOved tags out of the title so they are not hyperlinked on forumdisplay
    - Custom profile fields can now be re-ordered via the CP
    - When modifying avatars in the CP now they are displayed in rows of 5 instead of 1 and are grouped with a header
displaying the minimum posts required to use them.
    - You can specify a directory containing images and mass-add avatars by checking a box next to the image
    - Added CP options to set the minimum and maximum lengths of username at registration
    - Option to check for duplicate attachments when a user submits one
    - Threads now show a paperclip image on forumdisplay if the thread has an attachment. Update your thread counts via the CP
to get the counters set right after you upgrade. You already have the paperclip.gif image in the archive.
    - User's posts per day average is shown in their profile.
    - Admin bypasses PM quota and max char limits
    - Only expand 1 template/replacement set at a time when editing

vb 2.0 beta 2 "bug fixes"
    - Fixed upgrade bug that ended with "unknown ignorelist" mysql error
    - Fixed "unknown offset" mysql error with the calendar
    - Fixed bug that was showing the wrong (or none!) avatars to users for selection
    - Fixed potential bugs that could leave orphan attachments in the database
    - Several bugs in sessions.php affecting cookies and logins.
    - Fixed upgrade1 bug affecting forumdisplay depth.
    - Fixed upgrade1 bug leaving the admin unable to update their own custom profile field information
    - Fixed upgrade1 bug not setting a default style
    - Workaround for users who cannot access the register_shutdown_function
    - Untested support for user on Vservers who can not upgrade properly !!edit upgrade1.php and set $onvservers=1;!!
    - Fixed user titles with HTML not being parsed properly after the user edit their profile (should work now)
    - Fix bug in memberlist.php when a user doesn't have a birthday (only affected some versions of mysql)
    - Creating a POLL updates properly on forum home
    - Fixed bug where move forums weren't being created correctly if forumjump was off
    - Fixed search flood check bug
    - Fixed search for user bug
    - Fixed bug in UBB import with users of the same name but differing case, you will have to reset your database though
    - Error checking to prevent multiple templates of the same name.

Just some information, I also took off the old boards completely from the server. The old boards were a backup of the boards when they were using the previous software. We left it up at http://www.systemlogic.net/boardsold just in case we incurred any problems with these. Like I said, they are off now.

Nice work dave, I especially like how you are calling vb polls and other variables to other parts of the site

    Looking good.

Well this partly explains why there were fewer contest entry posts yesterday...
