I've paid Jelsoft to update the forum to the latest version in stages, were now at 2.3.2. Soon we will go to the latest v3 which is a beta but Jelsoft use it.
Some of the customisation will be lost along the way but all of the content remains.
SLCentral needs this update to protect itself from the hackers that nearly destroyed the site a little while back and to maybe add extra functionality, also the old version of the forum is not search engine friendly and the new version is.
The upgrade will create more work for me as I'll have to figure out what mods are required to the site code to get the missing bits back, but I think its worth the effort, if you are able to help Dave I'd appreciate it.

And when I figure out how to do it I'll put it back, I've spent a fair few hours looking for the file that will fix this so far without much success so far but I'll get there in the end.
