A public demo for the Tribes 2 mod, The Great Tribal War, has been made available. They've taken the concept of Tribes 2 combat and engineered it into a real-time strategy game.

For instance, generators, inventory stations, and the like can be completely destroyed. They can no longer be repaired once they're gone.

For owners of Tribes 2, such as myself, it's just a 0.44 MB download and you can help them test out their servers before the official release. Read the release notes here if you wish. They cover the revision history as well as a brief description of installation. I intend to give a whirl myself in a little bit. Post here about your experiences.

On a side note, they are also looking for people to operate servers for the game. To do so, simply download the complete version and drop them a line to inform them of your assistance.
