Kryo II "Ultra" Vaporware nomore
I saw over at Ace's that the Kryo II "Ultra" finally has been introduced, despite STMicro no longer manufacturing their cards (Hercules still does, in the Hercules 3D Prophet 4800)
Actually, the chip isn't named the Kryo II Ultra, rather, the Kryo II SE. So what's the difference? 25Mhz, and some driver tweaks. And the name change.
Aces has a bunch of comparisons between the older Kryo (175mhz) and the rest of the playing field, and also gives some info about how their Prophet 4500 performed at 200mhz in Serious Sam (overclocked). While their tests don't show an actual "Kryo II SE", which should have the driver tweaks (which should also be available to "regular" Kryo II owners), it does show how the chip scales in terms of clockrate. Check it out at Aces
