Default GOD launches Serious Sam level design contest

Need a brand new GF4? GOD may have your hook-up, if you can get down with their funky style.

Gathering of Developers Announces "Serious Sam Disco Inferno" Level Design Contest

Winner to Receive Visiontek Xtasy GeForce 4 Ti 4600 Video Card

NEW YORK, NY - April 19, 2002 - Gathering of Developers, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. and developer Croteam, today announced the grooviest contest around, "Serious Sam Disco Inferno." Create the level with the best mix of design skills combined with a penchant for polyester pants and you will win a brand new, top-end Visiontek Xtasy GeForce 4 Ti 4600 video card, featuring the fastest Nvidia GeForce 4 chip on the market.

The theme of the contest is Disco Cathedral - it's Notre Dame meets Studio 54! Will you satisfy Gathering of Developers' desire for funky fresh fragging grooves by creating the hippest, wackiest, most colorful Gothic Cathedral around? Can you transform a level into a 1970's shrine to K.C. and the Sunshine Band, Gloria Gaynor and the Bee Gees? Gathering of Developers wants to know. Express your creativity and kitsch sense while you frag the night away!

    Contest Rules
All maps must be created with the Serious Editor included with "Serious Sam: The Second Encounter." Maps must be fragmatch maps -- no single-player maps will be accepted. Maps can utilize any of the 3D models and textures included with the Serious Editor, but feel free to create your own, in fact, you may feel you need to do so in order to capture that true disco ambience. Any maps submitted will remain public domain and can be freely traded elsewhere online. Maps must be uploaded to us for prize consideration. Maps will be judged solely by Gathering
of Developers by play-testing each one and subjectively rating it in relation to the others we've received on the basis of creativity, skill, adherence to the stated requirements, and fun factor.
