Intel 2.8 GHz Pentium 4 is almost ready to ship!
With price cuts will follow!
Intel, feeling the crunch of a weak global market here and decreasing revenues, have decided to increase production and release their new Pentium 4 2.8GHz microprocessors this quarter. The 2.66GHz Pentium 4 and a 1.9GHz Celeron is also expected to be released as well.
As a result of this, Intel is also planning on cutting the prices of their “older” processors. Out with the old, in with the new!

In a bid to boost the attractiveness of its leading brand, Intel moved up the launch of its 2.8GHz Pentium 4 from the fourth quarter to this summer, sources said. The chip, which will be released in the coming weeks, will initially be offered at $637, with the price of its current speed king, a 2.53GHz chip, falling from $637 to $433.
