    Default Rumor mill: P4 Celerons to get a core upgrade?

    Update: This is no rumor!


    The Inquirer is reporting that Intel may be tinkering around with the P4 Celerons, increasing the core from the current 180 nanometer Willamette to a 130 nanometer Northwood, all on a 400MHz FSB. A 1.5 volt core and a bigger onboard cache is also expected to be included.

    A move to the Northwood core for the Celerons would mean Intel is able to shift their clock speeds far higher in the future than using the Willamette 128K core the first processors have.
    Update: This is no rumor! The same site that I spoke about above has followed up again today with some cold hard facts. Take a look for youself
