V-mod Sapphire Radeon 9550
The Radeon 9550 is a great budget card and if you could squeeze a few extra MHz out of it, it just serves to sweeten the deal. If your soldering finger is itchy then you may want to go a bit further and look at this mod from OC-Service as they show you how to get the voltages up in order to squeeze the most out of a Sapphire Radeon 9550.
“As anyone knows, RADEON 9500 is really RADEON 9600 with lowered timing ( those who are interested, are welcome to check this HERE ) Theoretically and practically, there is no problem in increasing the timing and gaining a full R9600 timing. Many people tho, want only R9600 PRO but XT and even faster. In such case, we need – so called – v-mod. It allows us to increase the GPU and VRAM which allows us to squeeze all the juices from our Radeon.”
