Zalman had a great idea, but missed - Keeping a lot of water cooling way outside the computer is a Good Idea(tm) but to really do it right - 1 - add an inexpensive 120-mm-fan size radiator to the line running between the Z tank to the heat sinks and stick the radiator/fan out of a window (OK, on the sill between screen and glass) for fall through spring- move to the top of an ac for summer, and youll cool a near-150- running P-4 hothead into a 2-digit cool-ruunner- Add a short hose to the tank inlet so newly arrived water goesw to the top and not right out the pump's suckhole and you'll shave 10 degrees off the output eater before it hits the radiator, meaning you'll keep runni ng cool as your AC cycles on and off all summer long.
Corse you can do it cheaper buying all but specialtystuff at an aquarium/pool place and building your own 2-4L external tank, maybe cut total I spent from $350 w/therm. to $200 w/superpump-just as quiet and guaranteed. key is cooling and keeping a lot of water *outside* your hot box

And you completely defeat the purpose.....

You say the key is cooling. But Zalman makes QUIET components. Adding a fan or a compressor is not noiseless. Currently, you can't hear anything with the Reserator. You can't hear the pump at all. You might not believe that, and still think that a $200 pump is "just as quiet guaranteed" but I know for a fact that you're mistaken. I have an Eheim 1060. I can hear it. Barely, but I can hear it.

Mind you, I don't think the Reserator is "perfect." There are large coolers that cool better and ANY other water cooling solution cools better, but none are truly silent.

I recently got the reserator 1 plus, last month, and I installed it all yesterday, and tested it all out today.

I'm impressed, and I was reading thr review on this website, about the reserator, before i brought it. so i found the review very interesting, and stuff.

BUT ONE THING, i want to know.
I know the pipes itself couplins) have VALVES, to the water doesn't leak water, but what about the tank itself?

does that have valves too?

I dont want to know unplug the pipes.
(i have the computer and cooler at work, so i need to take it home)

I wish I could answer that. The Reserator? No.

I bought the Reserator with my own money. I asked them for a Reserator 1 and they haven't responded.

What sucks is they link to my review from the Zalman website... but they won't even respond to me emails.

I liked your article, and I think I'll be buying this cooling system, soon.

From everything I've seen, the couplers you used at the PCI slot don't come with it, but I'd like to do much the same.

Could you link where you got those couplers from?

Likewise, perhaps someone has seen some valves w/quick connects? Would be nice to be able to unhook at the PCI slot and not have water leak all over the place.

You had problems with heat in the case!!
I'll build a Silent Gaming PC for a friend, and I'll mount an extra CPU block with an CPU Fan cooler circulating the air inside the case, and placing it first in the cooling flow. I'll use a Nexus Brezzer 500 case.

I hope my friend buy's this PC, then I'll get back to you with the results, might be that it doesn't do any good!!

I don't think you understand how I had heat problems.

Your solution doesn't directly address the problem I had....

My problem was getting heat OUT of the case.

When did I have problems getting heat out of the case? When I had a fanless PSU. I had no fans in the case at all. Why? Because I wanted it quiet.

So what did I do? I replaced the fanless PSU with one with a fan in it. NOw everything is fine. In fact, here it is four months later and everything is still fine.

What do you propose doing? Adding a fan. What's that going to do? Add noise. Try it with just the PSU fan in the case FIRST if noise is a concern. If it gets hot inside the case, then add an intake fan. If noise isn't a concern, don't get the Reserator.
