DOS Based Scandisk On Bad Shutdown?

Is there a way in WindowsME to make it so that if you have a bad shutdown that it will run the DOS version of scandisk?

The bootup windows version of scandisk never completes running on any system I have.....

not to my knowledge, as MS fucked DOS in ME

there is very little DOS left, and the stuff that is left is all fake. Why not run Win2K?
