Question Installing Unix with other OS!

I want to know how to install unix! and also i want to know where
or upto what part of my drive can i install unix, because to what i know
certain OS can only Boot on certain portions of a partition exp. not above 8gigs! or not
over a cetain amount of cilinders?

My plan is to install Unix, Linux, Win2000, WinMe on a 20HD. Also what is the proper
    sequince of intalation?

What can some of you recommend to use in partitioning the Drive and what boot program to
    use?

And other suggestions, recommendations, or warning, to what i am about to undertake!

Pleaese Email your responce to Gerryjun@edsamail.com.ph

Somebody told me recently that unix only runs on non x86 cpu's. Come to think of it I've never seen unix on a pc. And isn't that kind of why we have linux? Can you run unix on x86.

I think he's right. I know Solaris will run like a dead dog on your machine if you don't have a Sparc processor. I think the proper installation sequence is Win2k, WinME, then Linux. The reason is because Win2k has its own boot loader and I guess if it is overwritten you can't even boot Win2k.

But, be sure to check elsewhere, I've never done a dual or triple boot. I just load one OS on one machine.

Why do you need both Unix and Linux ?

As for the installing sequence, it depends if you prefer LILO or another bootloader.

I've done dual boot twice so far with this comp.

First one was Win98SE followed by Linux, to use LILO as a bootloader.

Second one was Win98SE followed by Win2kpro, cause the boot management is far better. Actually, don't even know if 98SE could do it ...

Do the heavy duty stuff last, to have a boot manager, and you should be ok.

As far as the size/cylinders, I really don't remember. I think Linux was picky about that one for me.
