Damn SystemWorks
That's lame. Somebody gives me SystemWorks 2001, and then, being the dumbass that I am sometimes, I go out and get Windows XP. I can't return SystemWorks 2001 Pro because I've opened the box and had been using it, but only the 2002 version is compatible with Windows XP. And the upgrade is $60. Nuts.

That sucks.
Get the 2002 upgrade and sell/give the 2001 version to a friend ?
I mean, unless you strictly abide by the copyright laws and all

The compatability with SystemWorks 2001 and XP is such a widely known issue... certainly SOMEONE Can do something for you..... ANYONE?! Did you write Symantec? Don't mention it was GIVEN to you.

I've gone through their support database many times over, and read other messageboards and such, but I'll drop them a line and see if they'll do anything for me. Thanks for the tip. And if that doesn't do it, maybe I will just sell it

Well, My suggestion is that you revert back to your previous version of Windows, or if you're installing WinXP on a new system, I suggest you dual-boot the system. One partition would be WinXP, and another Win9x/ME/2k (Win2k supports Norton SystemWorks 2001). That way you wouldn't put ur new software purchases to waste.
But, if you're looking for the kind of solution that would get u a refund or exchange, that's up to Symantec.
Displayed are which versions of Norton SystemWorks are supported under the various versions of Windows.

Hope you get this worked out, too many people make this mistake...Norton and Windows need to make it more evident!

It would be totally stupid to dual-boot it just for having SystemWorks on it. It would take too much effort installing all of that crap (Windows) on it just for SystemWorks. If you really need it, I can send you my copy :-D...its not like I use it...yeah its SystemWorks2002, and theres no way I would ever install it. Ive had too many issues with Norton over time...

Finally realized that a version of Norton AntiVirus came with my motherboard, which is probably about the most useful part of Norton SystemWorks. I'm sure that I'll be content with that for a while.

Whee! Thanks for the links! I think that even I can afford $8 ... it'd be nice to have the Disk Doctor and Speed Disk utilities back again.
