OK havent sen this one before.
Installed Win2k on a new computer.
Everything works great, but the damn thing wont shutdown properly.
I get the " Its Now Safe to Shutdown Your Computer"
screen. Like it has an AT power supply, but it has an ATX!
It is a MSI K7T pro Motherboard with a Duron 650 CPU.
It is the lastest version of Win2k with SP1
Tried flasing the BIOS but still no luck.

Does anybody have a clue as to what to try next?

Do you have any kind of Anti Virus software running when you shut down? For example Norton’s Anti-Virus 2000?

I have the K7T Pro2 A, I notice this will also happen to me when I install new software, and the computer ask me to restart before settings take affect. Other then that, it won’t happen, is will shut down quickly. Remember that Win2k does take longer to shut down then Win9x/ME. I keep my comp on 24/7, though when I do restart it’s not a problem.

Have you checked microsoft's web site? I know win98 had a shutdown problem and they supplied a patch on their site. Maybe there is one for win2k. Couldn't hurt to check out.
