Default Software to seperate vocals and background sound?

Does anyone know a program that will filter out the vocals of a song and leave only the background sound (kind of like making a karaoke)?

Try this. You can "punch in" or out sounds.

Another possibility is to use a program like SoundForge and take a few seconds where it is just music and loop just that section...
