I know this is almost trolling, but dangit I'm curious.

For all the penguin-heads out there, which do you think is better: GNOME or KDE?

I like GNOME personally, but KDE is what will kill Windows.

I personally like GNOME from what I've used as well.....but KDE 2.0 recently came out, and I haven't had a chance to use it.....

I like Helix Gnome. It looks really nice, and seems to run fairly fast.

    Thumbs up Well...

I haven't tried GNOME yet. I'm eagerly anticipating doing so, though. I think KDE is too cluttered, but I like KDevelop. So shoot me...I like pretty GUI-based development tools. I've used command-line tools before, but it's too easy to screw something up and too hard to fix it when you do. :-)

KDE 2.0 for me but I've got the others installed as well and I use them sometimes (or some of the apps at least)

Heh...I'm using TWM right now on a Mandrake install I've made. Talk about kludgy. But it's useful too. One thing that's annoying though is how you have to place all the new windows. Whenever a new window wants to come onscreen, your cursor changes and the outline of the window appears locked to the cursor. You have to click where you want the window, and then if any more new windows are waiting in the queue, they'll start coming up too. So, basically, it's great if you're a porn/crack surfer (No popups!), but serves little other function.
