About a month ago IE 5.5 stopped working correctly. It'll start up but immediately I get mini-window that says that IE is causing this problem:

IEXPLORE caused an invalid page fault in
    module <unknown> at 0000:2372bf52.

I've tried: 1) using a registry program to fix it, including regclean 2) reintalling Windows 98 3) using the repair IE tool in system tools 4) I've done a search of the MS database.

I still can't get it to work. Please Help!!

When you reinstalled Windows 98 did you reformat everything first? If not, you probably should to make sure it's a clean install. If it still doesn't work after that, then it's a problem with your copy of windows...

    Default i didn't reformat

I didn't actually reformat my hard drive--I've tried successfully in the past to just reinstall Win98 over what I already have on the drive--that usually fixes some problems so I've done that in the past. The only reason I haven't reformatted the drive is because 1) I don't have a CD burner and 2) I have several gigs of MP3's that I downloaded off Napster that I don't want to lose. Is there anything else I might be able to do?

Is this a registry problem or my system files?

    Thanks

    Thumbs up

You don't require to reformat, just boot of the floppy disk to dos & delete the windows folder & reinstall only windows & program files, you won't be losing your MP3's.

    Default that sounds very promising

Thanks so much for the all the tips.

I will try to delete the system files from DOS command line and then reinstall using the CD. I'll tell you what happens.

    Thanks
