Introduction
Our campus recently rolled out WiFi access points, and I also have a few around the office to connect to. I've always appreciated the idea of 802.11b, but I never really got a true appreciation for it until I was able to just sit on a laptop on a bench in the park outside a building with an access point and troll on Slashdot for a short while.
WiFi capability also drastically increases the usefulness of PDAs and handheld devices. In much the same way that a cellPDA is "always online", with a miniaturized WiFi card in your PDA, you can check your e-mail anywhere within reasonable range of the transmitter, run a remote SSH session, or simply waste hours posting on SLBoards.
I've also been spending some time lately testing the use of a cellPDA's remote internet connection, so lately, I've been having quite the time with my wireless connections. Naturally, I was interested in something that would work with just any ol' PDA…Thankfully, TRENDware offers just such an item: The (say it with me, now) TEW-202CF Wireless Ethernet CompactFlash card.
