Bottom Line:
The FIC K8-800T is a very solid board and is also amongst the cheapest of the current Socket 754 motherboards. With a lot of solid features like on-board audio, lan, together with extra brackets for firewire and USB. If you want to overclock is it the motherboard for you? Find out in our official review.......

Layout:
The mothership box housing FIC's flagship motherboard. I'm not
sure what the ships are shooting at, probably an Intel motherboard box.
Here are the IO connections, the CPU cradle, and the heatsink of
the Northbridge chip. Along the side of the CPU cradle are 5 capacitors and they
look like they could get in the way of the heatsink and fan, however the stock
cooling unit from AMD fits just fine. I will be reviewing the Silent Boost K8
heatsink fan in the near future and I will be sure to mention if I had any
problems with those capacitors being in the way.
Rear IO provides 2 PS2 ports, 2 serial
ports, 4 USB 2.0, onboard lan , and audio outputs for the onboard Realtek ALC655
audio.FIC included brackets for Digital I/O with
both Optical in and out connectors. Also included were brackets for 2 Firewire
ports and 2 additional USB 2.0 ports. 4 USB ports are already included on the
rear IO connections as you can see above.
Here are the IDE connectors (blue and white) and the
south bridge. You can also see the yellow connectors for the additional USB
ports.
Last but not least, the RealTek ALC655 on-board
sound chip.
