Is this case worth the retail price of $129? It does have extra features that most other cases don't have, including 2 fans standard, lockable side and front doors, easy open side door, to name a few. It's also probably the best black case you can get for a reasonable price. You can get this case for around $90-100 from vendors around the web, so you don't have to rely on Antec itself. However, you won't be as safe as buying from Antec directly. I personally bought my case from another vendor, and it came without any problems. There are probably better cases out there. Addtronics makes a few that I like, but they are more expensive, and they're not black. The lack of a removable motherboard rack makes it a bit inconvenient for people that swap motherboards often. However, most people probably won't be swapping out motherboards every week.
Even though it has a "quiet" power supply, the extra fans really add some volume to this case. This basically goes for any case where there are more than 2 fans running, especially if they are powerful fans. Personally, I don't have a problem with it, but I haven't really seen a case thus far that provides sound dampening. I've seen people use foam insulation, as well as Dynomat to keep those noise levels down. It doesn't bother me, since my old Inwin case was twice as loud.
Conclusion
Conclusion? Well what more can I say about this case... It looks cool, has a lot of nice features, cools my system better, and was about the same price as my Inwin Q500. The case is perfect for the average user and overclocker, even the more hardcore overclockers will like it. Although it lacks certain features that make other cases more convenient (slide out motherboard rack), it still has enough features to satisfy most anyone. The main reason I bought the case is its black color. Not only is it black, but it has a front door that covers the external drives. That eliminates me having to paint my CD-ROM & floppy drives black in order for it to match. It's not quite as big as my old Inwin case but size doesn't really matter in this case. The inner design allows for more air flow and that translates to lower running temperatures. The price tag is reasonable, especially with all the features this case has.
