    MSI BXMaster i440BX Review
    May 2000

The last generation of BX motherboards are still holding on to their market because of mainly one thing, and one thing only. That is RDRAM. Since RDRAM prices are still 2x-3x higher than SDRAM, we have seen the i440BX chipset survive for quite some time over the newer i820 which does support the RDRAM.

Since prices are so high and a lot of people want to stick with SDRAM for now. Because of this, motherboard manufacturers have tried to add as many features that the i820 chipset has to the i440BX. You basically end up with a version of the i440BX like the motherboard we look at today from MSI, hence the name BXMaster, which seems to fit pretty nicely.
